We provide free pickup from Tour Bus Stops 5 and 12, and for an additional fee, we also offer pickup from other central Reykjavík locations.

Your Northern Lights adventure starts with our efficient pick-up service. We collect passengers from designated hotels, tour bus stops, or our meeting point in central Reykjavík, depending on your choice. Once everyone is on board, we’ll leave behind the city lights and head into the peaceful darkness of the Icelandic countryside.
Unlike other tours, we don’t follow a set route. Our guides generally travel no more than 90 minutes from Reykjavík, carefully seeking clear skies. Earlier in the day, they will have checked the aurora and cloud forecasts to determine the best locations for viewing the lights.
During the journey, your expert guide will share interesting stories and facts about the Northern Lights and Iceland itself. When we reach a promising location, you'll have the chance to stretch your legs and wait for the aurora to appear. If you're interested, the guide can also give advice on the best camera settings to capture the lights.
Waiting in the cold for the Northern Lights can require some patience. To keep you warm, your guide will provide free hot chocolate and light refreshments. While we hope the lights will appear at our first stop, we may head to another location if necessary. At BusTravel Iceland, we do everything we can to make your Northern Lights experience unforgettable.
Even with accurate forecasts and expert guides, the Northern Lights can sometimes be elusive. Since they are a natural phenomenon, they’re not always guaranteed, despite our best efforts. If the lights don’t show up during your tour, don’t worry—we’ll give you a free retry on another night. Your guide will provide details on how to rebook. This offer is valid for three years from your original tour date. Please note, we cannot offer refunds for unsuccessful tours.
At the end of the evening, we’ll return you to your original pick-up location in central Reykjavík.
