Just 73 kilometers (45 miles) from Reykjavik, Þórisjökull is not just breathtaking; it's also a rare subglacial volcano known as a tuya.
Located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Reykjavik, the Hengill volcano is a geothermal wonder in southwest Iceland. The Hengill volcanic system is complex, featuring one main volcano and several smaller ones, all shaped by the tectonic movement of the European and American plates.
