Start your adventure with a panoramic view of Vestmannaeyjar Island on the first day of your tour. The day begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Reykjavík before heading south. Your first stop is at Landeyjarhöfn harbor, where you'll board a ferry for a 30-minute ride to the Vestmannaeyjar Islands. Once on the island, you'll visit Stórhöfði Cape, the perfect spot to see the island's oldest residents, the Atlantic puffins, up close. Next, you’ll explore the Eldheimar Museum, which commemorates the 1973 volcanic eruption that forced the island's entire population to evacuate overnight. After the museum visit, you can hike up Mt. Eldfell Volcano or spend some time in the town before returning to the mainland in the afternoon. Back on the mainland, you'll journey along Iceland’s south coast, enjoying stunning coastal views and the sight of Mt. Eyjafjallajökull Volcano, famous for its 2010 eruption that disrupted air travel across Europe and North America. The day continues with a visit to the charming village of Vík, where you can explore the village or take a stroll along the black sand beach. From Vík, it’s an hour-long drive through the Eldhraun lava fields to your hotel for the night.

You’ll see the Lakagígar craters, created by the massive volcanic eruption of 1783-1784, one of history’s most significant eruptions. This eruption and its ash cloud caused widespread famine in Europe, which some believe contributed to the start of the French Revolution. The adventure continues with a drive through the highlands, featuring a few short stops, before returning to the main road. The next stop is at the charming village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, where you’ll have free time to explore. The first day of this round trip focuses on exploring the iconic attractions of the Golden Circle. The journey begins at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its historical and geological importance.
