Your adventure kicks off from your chosen pick-up location in Reykjavik at 9:30 a.m. Please note that the entire pick-up process may take up to 30 minutes.
The journey begins with a visit to Borgarnes, a charming village rich in Viking history. From there, you'll head to Gerðuberg, where the striking basalt columns are sure to leave you in awe. Next, it’s on to Ytri Tunga, a golden-sand beach famous for its lively seal colonies.
The tour continues to Búðir, a picturesque hamlet set against the breathtaking scenery of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Afterward, you'll arrive at Arnarstapi, a quaint fishing village known for Gatklettur, its stunning eroded stone arch. Here, you’ll take a well-deserved lunch break amidst the beauty of Icelandic nature.
After exploring Arnarstapi, you’ll venture into the Vatnshellir Lava Cave, an 8,000-year-old underground marvel that feels like stepping into Jules Verne’s
A Journey to the Center of the Earth. If you decide to skip the cave tour, you can visit the Malarrif visitor center and its lighthouse at no extra cost. Time allowing, the stunning Lóndrangar rock cliffs are also worth exploring.
Next, you’ll head to the black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur. Here, you can admire the remnants of a shipwreck from 1948 and try your hand at the traditional lifting stones to test your strength.
At the end of the day, you’ll settle into Borgarnes Hotel (or a similar accommodation) for a relaxing night. If you’re visiting between late September and early April, and the weather is clear, you may have the chance to witness the breathtaking Northern Lights as they dance across the sky in vivid colors.

After a hearty breakfast, the day begins with a visit to the iconic Mount Kirkjufell, a photographer’s paradise and a recognizable filming location from
Game of Thrones. Nearby, a beautiful waterfall adds the perfect touch to this stunning landscape.
The journey continues to Grundarfjörður, where you’ll take a brief stop to grab snacks or any essentials, followed by a quick break at the local gas station.
Next, you’ll be captivated by the beauty of Hraunfossar waterfall, with its cascading streams flowing over lava fields. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy lunch while soaking in the breathtaking views. The adventure concludes in Reykholt, the historic home of Snorri Sturluson, the famous Icelandic historian, poet, and saga writer.
Your adventure continues with an exciting choice. For an additional fee, you can unwind in the soothing waters of Krauma geothermal baths. These baths combine hot geothermal water and cold glacial water, offering a truly relaxing experience surrounded by Iceland’s stunning landscapes.
If you prefer not to visit Krauma, you’ll head to Sturlureykir horse farm, where you’ll meet the charming Icelandic horses and learn about the farm’s unique geothermal heating system. Nearby, you’ll also visit Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring, where boiling water rises from the ground, creating an otherworldly, steamy scene.
The day concludes with your return to Reykjavik, with an estimated arrival time of around 6:05 p.m.
