Included
- One night accommodation in Reykavík (private bathroom)
Your adventure begins with a pick-up in Reykjavík at 8:00 AM. Today, we’ll explore the iconic Golden Circle attractions, starting with Þingvellir National Park.
Þingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich in geological, historical, and cultural significance. It’s where Iceland’s first parliament, the Alþing, was founded in 930 AD. You’ll also see the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the boundary between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, which continues to pull apart. The rugged edge of the gorge offers a striking view of this natural phenomenon.
Next, we’ll visit the Geysir geothermal area, home to the famous Great Geysir, which gave its name to the English word ‘geyser.’ You’ll watch as Strokkur, the area’s most active hot spring, erupts with powerful jets of superheated water every 5 to 10 minutes. Steaming fumaroles and hot springs dot the area, making for a truly geothermal experience.
Our final stop on the Golden Circle is Gullfoss waterfall, or the "Golden Falls." The powerful Hvítá River tumbles down in two stages, with mists swirling around as the water cascades 36 feet (11 meters) and 69 feet (21 meters) into the gorge below. Hvítá, or "White River," originates from Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier.
As we continue along the South Coast, we’ll visit two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Both are 197 feet (60 meters) tall, but each has its own unique character. Skógafoss flows gracefully from ancient sea cliffs, while Seljalandsfoss offers a path that lets you walk behind the waterfall for a truly memorable experience.
Afterward, we’ll head to Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach. A short walk along the shore takes you to an impressive basalt-column cave, and offshore, you’ll spot the towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks, which rise dramatically from the sea.
We’ll end the day by settling into a country hotel in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. If the conditions are right, you’ll have the chance to head out for a few hours to chase the Northern Lights (from September to April).

As we cross the vast Eldhraun lava field, we finally arrive at Skaftafell, a lush green oasis surrounded by black volcanic sands. This protected area allows for the growth of vibrant vegetation and birch forests.
If you’ve opted for the Adventure Package, a glacier expert will guide you on an exciting hike across one of the outlets of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. You’ll have the chance to explore the fascinating blue and white ice formations up close.
From October to April, the adventure takes you through the glacier’s crystal ice caves, which form anew each winter. This is a truly magical experience, offering a rare opportunity to see the glacier from the inside.
We then continue to the breathtaking Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where enormous icebergs float serenely in the water. Famous for its appearances in films like James Bond, this lagoon is one of the most iconic in the world. After enjoying the lagoon, we’ll head to the stunning Diamond Beach, where icebergs washed ashore by the tide sparkle against the black sand, creating a surreal and magical atmosphere.

We then continue our journey around Lake Mývatn, a volcanic landscape filled with birdlife. The lake is dotted with over 50 small islands, all formed by volcanic activity.
As an optional extra, you can visit the Mývatn Nature Baths, often referred to as the "Blue Lagoon of the North." These geothermal pools are filled with mineral-rich water from deep below the surface. You can relax in the pools, enjoy a swim-up bar, or unwind in the steam baths—perfect for warming up with water straight from the earth’s core.
Afterward, we’ll visit Dimmuborgir, a place full of eerie lava formations that look like they belong in a fantasy novel. Known as the "Dark Castles," these towering structures create a mysterious atmosphere.
Next, we head to Goðafoss, the "Waterfall of the Gods." Spanning 98 feet (30 meters) in a horseshoe shape, this impressive waterfall is tied to Iceland’s conversion to Christianity, as idols were thrown into its powerful waters.
We’ll end our day in Akureyri, where you’ll settle in for the night. If the skies are clear, your guide will help you chase the Northern Lights during the winter months.
