Your day begins with pick-up from your accommodation or a nearby location in Reykjavík. The famous Golden Circle attractions are first on the agenda.
Þingvellir National Park is a place of great significance for Icelanders. It is the site where the world’s oldest parliament was founded in 930 CE, and today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its rich history and geological marvels.
As you pass by Þingvallavatn, you’ll see the Silfra fissure, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet. The rift valley’s cliffs divide the park, showcasing Iceland’s fascinating history and the powerful forces of the Earth.
The next stop on the Golden Circle is the geothermal wonder of Geysir. While Great Geysir is no longer active, nearby Strokkur erupts spectacularly every 5 to 10 minutes, sending torrents of superheated water into the air.
The final attraction on the Golden Circle is Gullfoss waterfall. Feel the raw power of the falls as they thunder through a high, rugged canyon, plunging in two stages.
Continuing along the beautiful South Coast, we’ll stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the cascading water and experience the sheer force of nature from a unique perspective.
Next, we’ll head to Skógafoss waterfall, where the water cascades over former sea cliffs. The incredible spray creates the perfect conditions for spotting rainbows, making this an ideal spot to witness single or double rainbows.
The day’s final stop is Reynisfjara black sand beach, home to the iconic Reynisdrangar peaks, said to be two trolls who turned to stone when caught by the morning sun. As you stroll along the beach, you’ll also encounter the striking basalt column cave.
After a full day of exploring, we’ll head to a country hotel near Kirkjubaerklaustur, a charming village on the South Coast. Between September and April, your guide will offer tips on how to spot the Northern Lights in the area.

After enjoying breakfast, we check out from our hotel and continue our journey along the south coast toward Skaftafell and Vatnajökull National Park. Vatnajökull glacier, Hvannadalsnúkur (Iceland's highest peak), Skaftafell, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and other natural wonders are all part of this protected 13,600 km² wilderness. Iceland has three national parks: Þingvellir, Vatnajökull, and Snæfellsjökull – and on this tour, you’ll experience all of them.
Our first stop is Skaftafell, where you'll embark on a glacier hike with one of our certified glacier guides (included in the Adventure package). Equipped with crampons and all necessary glacier gear, you’ll be guided onto an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull. These glaciers are mesmerizing, featuring deep cracks, ice holes that reach the glacier’s base, and incredible views. Don’t hesitate to ask questions – our guides love sharing their knowledge!
From October to April, we substitute the glacier hike with an exciting exploration of Vatnajökull’s crystal ice cave. Every winter, the glacier meltwater freezes, forming new ice caves that wind through the glacier’s heart. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the icy interior of Iceland’s mighty glaciers!
After your refreshing glacier adventure, we'll take a short ride to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. As we approach the main highway, you'll see icebergs floating serenely in the lagoon. These massive and uniquely shaped ice chunks have calved from the retreating Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, and occasionally, you may even spot seals playing in the water. This is a popular filming location, having appeared in several James Bond movies and other films.
From the lagoon, we’ll head to Diamond Beach, just a few minutes away. Here, you’ll find icebergs washed ashore by the tide, resting on the black sand like glittering diamonds or giant quartz crystals. It’s often referred to as Crystal Beach due to the stunning appearance of the ice on the dark sand.
In the evening, we’ll rest in comfortable accommodation in one of the charming seaside towns of the Southeast. In winter, keep an eye on the sky for a chance to witness the Northern Lights near the hotel.

We depart the Vatnajökull National Park area, but the breathtaking views continue. As we follow the winding roads through the East Fjords, the coast stretches out on one side and steep mountains rise on the other. The narrow roads take us through peaceful villages, offering panoramic views of the serene fjord waters below.
Our first stop is Djúpivogur, a remote and charming fishing village. North Atlantic waves crash onto its black sand beaches, and the birdlife is abundant. In summer, most of Iceland’s birds nest here, and locals humorously claim there are more birds than people. With just a few hundred residents, the village is renowned for its warm hospitality and eco-friendly lifestyle.
Next, we stop at Egilsstaðir, a picturesque town located by the Lagarfljót River, known for the legend of the Lagarfljót worm—a giant creature from Icelandic folklore said to occasionally emerge from the lake.
Later, we visit an interactive historical center where you can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and horse riding. Nestled between Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, and Lake Lagarfljót, the Wilderness Center offers an authentic Icelandic experience.
Explore exhibits that showcase life in the rugged highlands. During your visit, admission to the museum is included. As you arrive, you'll cross an old wooden bridge and step into history, with accommodations provided in charming historic buildings. Enjoy meals prepared with local ingredients, and after your adventures, unwind in the hot spring spa.
Once you’re settled into your accommodations, take advantage of the clear winter skies and try your luck spotting the Northern Lights. This remote and wild region offers ideal conditions for viewing this natural phenomenon.

Today, we explore the breathtaking beauty of North Iceland. Our journey begins as we travel from the east into the north, passing through remote and rugged landscapes, starting with the stunning Stuðlagil Canyon, one of the world’s most captivating basalt rock formations.*
We then move from the roaring glacial rivers to the geothermal area of Námaskarð, near Lake Mývatn. Here, the ground bubbles with boiling mud pools in shades of red, yellow, and orange, colored by mineral deposits. Fumaroles release sulfurous steam, creating a misty and colorful landscape, shaped by volcanic activity deep beneath the surface.
Our route takes us around the tranquil Lake Mývatn, an area famous for its unique volcanic features and abundant birdlife. The shallow waters, dotted with small islands formed by volcanic eruptions, make this place one of Iceland’s most remarkable natural wonders.
As an optional extra, we offer a visit to the Mývatn Nature Baths, often referred to as the "Blue Lagoon of the North." These natural hot springs are fed by geothermal waters from 8,200 feet (2,500 meters) beneath the surface. The warm, mineral-rich waters provide a soothing soak, surrounded by the serene beauty of northern Iceland.
Next, we head to the Dimmuborgir lava formations, also known as the "dark cities." Towering above us, these dramatic lava structures were created when the roof of a massive lava tube collapsed. While entirely natural, some of the formations resemble familiar shapes. Can you spot one called The Church (Kirkjan)?
Our final stop for the day is the magnificent Goðafoss waterfall, known as the "Waterfall of the Gods." As we approach, the powerful rush of water cascading over the cliffs fills the air with a constant roar. The falls, about 98 feet (30 meters) wide, curve in a horseshoe shape, and the water plunges 39 feet (12 meters) into a wide rocky basin below. Its fascinating history adds to its allure, which your guide will share with you.
We will spend the night at a country hotel in Akureyri, Iceland's second-largest city. In winter, the clear skies around Akureyri offer perfect conditions for hunting the Northern Lights.
*Please note that during winter, road conditions may prevent access to Stuðlagil. However, we will provide alternative exciting activities for you to enjoy. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities. Thank you for your understanding.

We begin the day with a drive through Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. As we make our way to the picturesque fishing town of Dalvík, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Eyjafjörður, the longest fjord in Iceland, if visibility is good.
From Dalvík, embark on a thrilling whale-watching boat tour across Eyjafjörður Fjord, where you’ll be on the lookout for whales, dolphins, and other fascinating marine life. This activity is included in the Adventure package. Humpback whales, dolphins, and porpoises are often spotted, with a 98% chance of seeing cetaceans during our tours!
After Dalvík, we continue our journey through charming villages before arriving at Siglufjörður. Once known as the herring fishing capital of the Atlantic in the early 20th century, the village took on a Klondike-style gold rush atmosphere during the boom years.

Today, our focus is on the Borgarfjörður area in West Iceland, which was named one of the best travel destinations by Lonely Planet.
We begin with a visit to Grábrók, a volcanic crater. After a short hike to the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views over the lava fields and vast landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Next, we head to Reykholt, a historically significant town in Iceland, particularly in medieval times. Here, we’ll show you Snorralaug, the hot spring pool named after Snorri Sturluson, the 12th-century scholar, lawyer, historian, and saga writer. Stand by the pool where Snorri is said to have bathed and reflect on Iceland’s rich historical tapestry.
