SOUTH COAST HIGHLIGHTS On this South Coast adventure, we set out to explore the most popular attractions in the land of fire and ice. Our journey begins as we drive through picturesque farmlands and charming little towns, heading to Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls. If the weather permits, you can even walk behind the stunning 60 m (197 ft) cascade and peek through the shimmering wall of water. Next, we’ll visit Skogafoss Waterfall, where you can admire the falls from both below and above after climbing approximately 500 steps. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at Reynisfjara, a world-famous black sand beach known for its dramatic Reynisdrangar basalt sea stacks, formed by Iceland’s incredible volcanic activity, rising majestically from the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll take a lunch break in the town of Vik, enjoying the view of its picturesque church perched high on a hill. Back on our minibus, we’ll travel through moss-covered lava landscapes to Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a village steeped in legends. Our accommodations for the night will be near Skaftafell. If the forecast is promising, your guide will share the best spots to witness the Northern Lights in all their glory. While we can’t guarantee a sighting of the Aurora, we hope to see the mesmerizing multicolored lights dance across the night sky. VATNAJÖKULL NATIONAL PARK, JÖKULSÁRLÓN & DIAMOND BEACH The next part of the tour focuses on Vatnajökull National Park, the largest in Europe. After breakfast, we’ll head to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, one of the most surreal sights in the world, let alone in Iceland. Here, floating icebergs drift slowly across the vast lagoon as they make their way to the open sea. Some of these stunning blue icebergs wash ashore on the famous Diamond Beach, where they sparkle like diamonds on the black volcanic sand. The highlight of this leg of the trip is stepping into the breathtaking natural Crystal ice cave during the winter months or exploring the Katla ice cave during the summer. Accompanied by our expert glacier guide, you’ll safely observe the fascinating ice formations, and our guide will share intriguing facts about how these ice caves are formed. As we make our way back to Reykjavík, we’ll keep an eye out for the Northern Lights and will make a brief stop if conditions allow. We expect to arrive in Reykjavík around 21:00 (9:00 p.m.). While fluctuating winter weather can sometimes affect our schedule, don’t worry—our expert travel planners always have a backup plan in place. It’s all part of the exciting Iceland experience!

Pick-up begins at 09:00 am from your hotel or the Reykjavík meeting point you’ve selected. Please remember that the pick-up process can take up to 30 minutes, so make sure you're ready and waiting by 09:00 am. This enchanting tour package will take you on a two-day adventure, first heading south and then east as we explore the stunning sights of Iceland. We’ll drive toward the rising sun, making our first stop at the unique Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can actually walk behind the gracefully flowing cascade. It’s definitely worth braving a little splash for such an unforgettable experience! Next, we’ll visit Skógafoss, located at the base of the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano. On clear days, you can also catch a glimpse of the magnificent Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at Reynisfjara, a stunning black sand beach known for its picturesque basalt column formations and the iconic Reynisdrangar sea stacks. As we drive through the charming town of Vík on our way to our accommodation, you can look forward to breathtaking landscapes featuring vast lava fields, stunning waterfalls, black sands, and glacier tongues. We’ll wind down the day with a relaxing evening, and if conditions are favorable, we’ll venture out to chase the Northern Lights! Today, you'll explore the stunning world of glaciers by venturing into a sparkling blue and white ice cave with a qualified guide. You'll also visit the amazing Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, getting up close to a large glacial tongue of the Vatnajökull glacier. Jökulsárlón Ice Lagoon is famous for appearing in blockbuster movies like *Batman Begins* and *The Secret Life of Walter Mitty*. It’s a breathtaking place filled with spectacular icebergs of all shapes and sizes that have broken off from the melting Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. These icebergs float around in the lagoon before making their way to the Atlantic Ocean. Many of them end up on the nearby Diamond Beach, where they look like sparkling diamonds against the black sand. After enjoying the lagoon, you'll enter the glacier with your guide! In winter, you'll visit the beautiful Crystal Ice Cave, and in summer, you'll explore the Katla Ice Cave. Each winter, new caves form because of the melting and freezing of the glacier, so every visit is different. Inside the ice cave, you'll have the chance to take amazing photos of the shimmering blue light shining through the ice. The deep blue colors are caused by ice compression and how light passes through it, sometimes made even more vibrant by algae. After visiting the ice cave, we’ll start our journey back to Reykjavík. We’ll keep an eye out for the Northern Lights on the way, and if conditions are right, we’ll make a short stop to enjoy this natural wonder. We expect to return to Reykjavík around 21:00 (9:00 p.m.).
